Hey Scotty,
would you recommend that I buy a 2013 RAV4 with a six speed automatic and the D4-D engine. I’ve heard that these engines are not as reliable as Toyota’s other ones. I would really appreciate your help!

2013 is the first year of the generation so I can't recommend you buy it as there are still bugs that have not been worked out for that year.
I would look for a 2016-2018.
