Hey Scotty I love your channel I own a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis I use it for storm chasing what are your thoughts on replacing it with a 2006 GMC Yukon Denali? AWD ??
We have a 2002 Yukon XL Denali with 196,000 miles. We put in a rebuilt transmission at 155,000 miles. We have had just normal wear and use issues with this car. From what I can gather, GM cars were made pretty good up until around 2006. The 2006 seems to be on the line between good and not so good GM product. Problem is I don't know what side of the line the 2006 is on.
GM added cylinder deactivation in 2007, so this one might still be OK.

See below: 2006 was still part of the 2nd (and overall fairly reliable) generation of Chevrolet Tahoe/GMC Yukon: it was the last model year, actually.

If the vehicle has a good service history (esp. engine oil and transmission fluid changes) and an independent, honest mechanic like a Scotty thoroughly checks it out with his fancy scan tool, road tests, and analyzers all the data and gives his OK, it can be a decent buy.

Like Paradox said, 2006 seems to be the dividing year between the good and the bad. I personally wouldn't buy any GM product made after 2005.
