Howdy from NC, Scotty!
I have a 2012 Toyota Camry with 90k miles on the clock that’s having rough shifting in the lower gears (1-4), but no problem in 5-6.
No codes, no engine lights, just worried about it and want to know if I’m being over-anxious or if it’s an actual problem.
I’ve heard about the torque converters on this generation of Camry going bad, but I don’t know if it’s that or not.
I’ve driven work trucks with bad transmissions and this doesn’t feel like that and it doesn’t make any noise like they did. No kicking, no clanking, no squealing, just a bit of lag and jumpiness when it shifts in lower gears.
I had the trans fluid changed this summer at 82k miles, if that helps.
Just looking for a bit of advice on if I need to do anything and what that might be if I do.
Thanks!
I would check the torque converter. Have a mechanic with a high end scan tool check it out.

Thanks, I’ll do that.
