Camry why is my steering sluggish

Scotty!

Big fan.

1999 Toyota Camry Auto 135,000mi

Replaced front struts with KYB strut assemblies.  Now steering is sluggish.

Replacing KYB bearings with OEM helped, but driver side still binds and makes noise at the top of the spring.

Didn’t grease OEM bearings during assembly assuming they were plug-and-play.  Would more grease help?

Intermediate shaft, rack, and pump seem ok.  (Took shaft out to inspect.)

There are only three steering friction components: mount, bearing, and upper seat.

I can’t figure out what the heck is binding.

Thanks!

PS: Relieved to see cat pillows made it ok.

Well it didn't happen until you did the work so you probably have to take it apart and grease everything correctly but you could try squirting some in or you might have gotten bad parts
