Camshaft position sensor faults

I changed the camshaft position sensor a 2001 Dodge grand Caravan 3.3 L and I disconnected the battery before doing so I just stumbled It says not to disconnect the battery so the computer can learn that there’s a new part in place because I disconnected it. I guess it may be an emergency or something. What do I do now?

What is "It"?   Are you talking about the factory shop manual? That's pretty unusual since disconnecting the battery is generally standard procedure when working on anything electrical.

I guess it may be an emergency or something.

What symptoms are you experiencing? Is the engine not starting?

For that matter, why did you replace the camshaft position sensor? Did you install an OEM replacement?

Note that the online shop manual for that vehicle at charm.li specifically states to disconnect the battery as step #1 when removing that sensor.

Are you having network issues? If so, then please wait until you have a stable connection. If you are pressing the submit button more than once, please stop. (You posted this six times in quick succession!) Press it once, and wait for it to finish processing. Otherwise it creates more work for moderators to clean up, and eventually the system will automatically ban your from entering. Thank you.

I'm having a hard time trying to discern what you're saying. You have run-on sentences. Did you disconnect the battery before working on the car?

@justin-shepherd It's a pretty confusing account with few details but it appears he did disconnect the battery but now is in a bit of a panic because something (an unidentified "It") that he stumbled on is telling him he was supposed to leave the battery connected. The shop manual at charm.li however says otherwise. It is not clear if there are actually any problems, or even what the initial problem was that lead to the replacement of the sensor.

I would agree. He's working with sensors, so I would think you'd automatically remove the negative battery cable to stop the electricity from flowing.
