Top of the Afternoon Scotty, I hear from family mechanics that Amsoil is the best of the best. Can you test out the Signature Series ATF, Motor Fluid, P.I fuel cleaner, and or Oil filter. My family mechanics swear by the oil filters and motor oil. From other people in the car community the main complaint i always hear is the price, but i am told the discount you get for being a member as well as having longer change intervals ends up save you money in the long run. As you say oil is always cheaper than engine repairs.I have seen the oil annalist and Project Farms results but i am curious to your results!

AMSOil and Royal Purple are a great way to throw your money away.

1 year/5k miles should be your max interval of change regardless of oil or some marketing claims. I've rebuilt a lot of motors for guys who believed that hype.

I use Mobil 1 personally and professionally and have no issues. Those "upmarket" brands are, simply put, a ripoff.

I second Mobil 1, use it on my vehicles.

Curious to what people though i stand by Amsoil there are to many test done by third party to ignore that you can go more than 5k miles.

Sure you CAN go more than 5k miles. But you shouldn't. Not if you value your engine and want it to last. We have tested all kinds of oils and AMS/Royal Purple are marketing gimmicks. But one thing I have learned is the people who buy the hype, REALLY buy the hype and you can't change their mind. Which is fine....I'm happy to make money off their poor decision.

Boutique oils. The quality is good, but they aren't worth what you pay. Do not extend your intervals.

"Longer change intervals" - there's a red flag if there ever was one.

I would just stick to every 5,000 miles or once a year, whichever comes first with oil that meets the OEM’s specifications.  That will already go a long ways in keeping your engine lasting longer, and save some money too over the more expensive oils.

As far as the motor oil goes, I used to use it, but I am with the others in that the super long change interval is not good. Not saying that amsoil is bad oil, but I am not sure it is worth paying more than something like mobil 1, which is what I use now.

Now as for transmission fluid, for me it has always been great. There are also many other people that have experienced, even bad transmissions, last significantly longer with amsoil.
