Dear Scotty, I have been trying to search for used cars as my first car and I am 16 years old. My dad is telling me that people will only sell lemons and it is impossible to find a good deal. I have wanted to choose between a 02-06 lexus es, a toyota camry 3.0v6 02-06 or an 06-12 3.5v6 rav4. Can you explain each one and which car would be the best choice to keep for 5 years and will require the least maintnence becuase remember that I am choosing the v6's on each.
Can anybody tell me how to get Scotty to answer this question in his videos?
1. The cars you picked are excellent ones
2. be patient and WAIT for a good deal and occasionally LOOK for one, don't just jump on any listing
3. when you do find one, always be on the safe side and have a mechanic do a mechanical inspeciton on it before purchase. That way you know you are getting a reliable car.
4.Good luck!
For a first car, I personally would pick the Camry V6 that is one of my favorite commuter cars the quality is nice and though you should really not care about this much in a used car, I would keep an eye out on the 2005-2006 Camry XLE V6 trim. The interior is nice the power is good and it gets a little bit more ground clearence.
Cross your fingers. I think Scotty might be done for today, but hopefully he sees your question tomorrow.
Your dad is little bit right. A lot of people are hungry for cars right now. But be patient.
You can definitely find something that you liked that will last. Just be patient, don't jump at the first one you look at just because it's what you want. But, a camry would probably be least maintance out of those. Maybe the rav4 .they're all good choices.
I like your car choices. Your dad has good advice. My dad told me he wanted to check out my first car when I found one. I ignored him and bought one without him looking at it. And I should have listened to him, because I owned the worst car ever made. 1989 Hyundai Excel. Good luck shopping
Maybe... But I know a lot more about cars than my dad does from watching Scotty's videos and doing a lot of research of my own, but my dad knows about the process of buying it more than I do.
