Hello, this is what Chat Gpt is saying.

Let's not replace Scotty's advice with Chat Gpt's advice quite so fast! Crank, but No Start

I'd suspect a faulty IAC valve

What do your fuel trims look like? When you hold the gas pedal down you're letting more air in which can help thin out a too-rich mixture. It's an old trick that used to be used when dealing with flooded carburetors, but if you have drippy fuel injectors it's pretty much the same situation.

Hello, this is what Chat Gpt is saying.

It sounds like there may be an issue with the idle air control valve, throttle body, or a vacuum leak. I recommend having a mechanic inspect these components to identify and address the problem.

Also Google says this.

It is most likely because of a fuel blockage, so when you open the carburetor valve (when you press the accelerator), the engine is getting too much air and not enough fuel.

Usual reasons are fuel supply problems, idle speed or ignition timing set wrong, idle control motor, defective spark control system, or a sensor problem for most vehicles. Occasionally on a standard the clutch might not be fully releasing and loading the engine at idle.

Holding the accelerator pedal while starting is the carry-over procedure for starting a car that's been flooded out. If it starts when the gas pedal is wide open, it's not a problem with fuel.

Chat GPT is like a self driving car. I would not trust it.

@g-t Same here, I wouldn't use that stupid thing for anything.

I've never even heard of Chat GPT, lol.

but we have to remember that holding the accelerator at WOT (wide open throttle) on fuel injected vehicles while cranking puts the computer in "clear flood mode" so the fuel injectors won't open

@justin-shepherd it's a year old chatbot

@G.T. Makes sense, I've been out of the loop for almost a year, now. I also prefer YouTube videos about specific things, not a generic "chat" type thing.
