I'm starting to notice the sound of the starter in my ES350 is becoming more labored. I think the battery is original because it is branded as Lexus and I think it's about time to be replaced. Will it cause computer or radio problems if I remove the battery myself, trade it for a new one, put the new one in without another battery connected in parallel? I can always put the presets back in the radio if it loses memory.
some folks have had a hassle finding their radio code after changing a battery, you may not have that issue
i bought a memory saver from amazon that i plan to use next time, might save some time and frustration
It shouldn’t cause any issues but in order to avoid memory resets including engine idling, and before removing the battery, I would first plug in a battery saver to the OBDII-port.

Just an update to my battery situation. I was actually trying to leave Walmart today when my car almost wouldn't start. After getting it started, I drove to the back of the store to the auto department and bought a new Everstart Maxx battery. After putting the new battery in the trunk, the car wouldn't start this time. Good thing I had a jumper unit on the floor of the back seat to give me a boost.
After getting home and letting the engine cool a bit, I got the OBDII connector to cigarette plug adapter I got from Amazon and my cigarette lighter socket to 120VAC adapter, I plugged it up and replaced the battery. Car wastes no time starting now and all the interior lights seem brighter. All I need to do now is return the old battery to get $12 back for core charge. Thank you all for your help.

Yes, I did try to search a thingy that won't corrupt the computers or disable the radio in the car when it loses battery power. I didn't know it was called a memory saver then.
