Hello, I'm thinking of buying a 2000 - 2005 mustang convertible as a daily driver. I have always wanted a convertible because in my opinion, thy look better. My only concern is that because I plan to use it as a daily driver I will not be able to keep an eye on it all the time. I worry that thugs will cut the top to rob withing in my car or even the car itself. Is there a way of changing the top for something a little steadier like plastic? I know I can't make it a hard top without welding and spending a ton of money. Thanks for the help.

Well a few things to keep in mind. 1 where do you live? Is it warm there most of the year. If your like me and live where half the year or more its cold af probably not the best idea to get one. 2. Do you live in a area where you'd be worried someone would cut the top and steal your car. again might not be a hot idea if so. I know they look cool and all but before you buy please try and take all factors into account before you go buying just for looks. GL car shopping!

Hey! Buy a coupe. Those ugly 2000-2004 Mustangs probably don't get stolen very often any way.

While it's possible to do, typically it's more effort than it's worth. The vinyl on those is stronger than you would think. Chances are it's not gonna get broken into. Just be smart and don't leave valuables in sight.
