SCOTTYYY I just bought a 2013 Chevy Camaro SS with 95k miles on it. Any thoughts, opinions, or advice reliability wise and maintenance wise? By the way, yes I know it’s a huge gas hog.

@Mod_Man can tell you all about it.

Depending on what engine you have (automatic=L99, manual=LS3), you'll want to follow the manufacturers recommended maintenance. Also, if you have an auto, I would recommend deleting the AFM system to extend engine life and eliminate the annoyance.

Things to watch for on those cars:

1. Check the belts for wear. GM stupidly used non-adjustable drive belts, so if they are loose, you'll need to replace the belt.

2. Watch for oil leaks/oil consumption

3. Keep an eye out for excessive blow by

4. If it is a manual, listen out for any indication of bent rods. Guys like to drive them hard, but one missed shift at high RPM is enough to bend the rod(s). I would recommend replacing them with hardened chromoly push rods. You can do it yourself....plenty of videos out there.

That's about it. They are LS motors, so old tech and pretty reliable. The owners are their worst enemy as most are abused and not properly cared for.

Auto or 6spd? Had a 2011 SS and 2015 SS, both 6spd's. Loved them both. I neve had any problems. The automatics have the AFM (active fuel management), a popular thing people did back then was get rid of the AFM and replace cam, lifters and tune to convert the L99 to LS3. And while in there for the conversion, upgrade the oil pump too. All sorts of mod's out there, from mild to wild, depends on how much you want to do.
