I have a 2008 chevy colorado. 139,337 miles. The issue i am having is that the truck will begin to sputter and stall out at low speeds. Example, I will be driving at highway speeds with no issue. When I exit the freeway and begin to slow down I feel a slight loss of power. It seems to be worse when I sharply brake and quickly stop, this has lead to complete loss of acceleration and the car will just roll (power steering also goes out when this happens, also all electrical components are still on) I have had to turn the car off and wait before turning it on again to get it running. It also seems to have trouble starting after it stalls out. Again this always happens at lower speed, especially when sharply breaking or slowing down to take turns. Doesn't seem to have any issues at higher speeds once it gets going. Any advice would help! Thank you.
Sometimes a symptom of a vacuum leak. Make sure there aren't any hidden cracks or loose connections in the intake hose(s).
Check PVC valve is operating. Air cleaner is not loose or misaligned.
I agree with Carlos. Symptoms indicate a vacuum leak causing power loss and loading the power steering pump. Check all hose connections between the vacuum source on the intake manifold and the brake booster for cracks and leaks. Spray somw WD40 on them with the engine running. If the rpms come up, you've found the leak.
