My father recently bought a used 2019 Chevy Suburban LT with almost 70k miles. I've heard that GM had some serious automatic transmission problems around that time. It's still shifting fine right now, but I just wanted to ask if there's a risk of transmission failure soon due to the mileage?

Has the transmission ever been serviced? Were there are records of the fluid being changed before?

The GM 8 speed transmission definitely had problems, though they can be OK if you don’t tow and you keep up the maintenance. The 6 and 10 speeds are usually pretty good.

Ok. I wouldn't worry about it then. Just keep up with the maintenance.
