Scotty,
we have 2012 Honda CRV with 163,979 miles. The rear caliper froze so we had to replace it so I replaced both sides. I had my granddaughter’s boyfriend do. The work since he’s in school to become an auto mechanic and is working at a local Chevy dealer. I watched him do the work. He put everything on correctly, we bled the brakes afterwards. Now the side that had the frozen caliper is squeaking when driving but not when braking! I just took it apart to see if maybe I issued him doing something incorrectly. Only thing was that the slide clips weren’t on. I’m not exactly sure what they are called. But they attach to the caliper bracket and the brake pads slide on them. I installed them and greased them up so the pads slide easily. After putting everything back together my daughter took it for a drive and when she came back up the driveway it was squeaking again! I’ve never in many years or doing my own brakes ever had ones squeak like this! I’ve heard it when the wear bar is close to the rotors but not on brand new calipers, rotors and pads. Suggestions?
Well, if you didn't change the rotors, you put new pads on old rotors. They will often squeak. And of course all the hardware. All the clips has to be on or they can drag and squeak. And realize the quality of the pads is a lot to do with noise. I use akebono pads And they never make noise
