Is cleaning a MAF sensor with the products especialy made for them effective ?
Sometimes.
which one to use ?
Since you appear to be overseas most of us have no idea what you have available in your area.. I would say any of the leading brands of automotive chemicals used in your country should be OK. (CRC is probably the most popular in the U.S.)
is it worth doing
Are you experiencing problems related to the MAF sensor?
@chucktobias i think that car is spending a little more diesel fuel then usual ? and i dont drive the car fast most of the time.. usualy around 60-80km/h.. that is why i suspected that could be the issue since everyhing else is in order.. and i saw that sensor can cause more fuel consumption..
You should be able to test it if you have access to a scan tool that can read live data.
the products especialy made for them effective ?
They all generally work. IF the sensor is dirty, it will clean it. It probably won't restore a worn out one though.
is it worth doing
if the sensor is dirty then of course.
bought car 10 months ago and i dont know has it been clean before or not
can you disassemble the intake to see the area around the sensor and how dirty it is?
You can check the sensor performance with diagnostic tools
@imperator year is 2003 and 318 000km.. my friend has diagnostic tool so i will take car to him to check it out.. until mine doesn't come since i ordered one.. i can remove sensor easy but i didn't do it yet since i don't have the spray atm.. will do when i buy.. i asked for advice since you ppl are more expirienced then me.. and thank you in advance for helping me ouy here 🙂
my experience with diesel engines is limited, but I'll help however I can.
