I replaced my clockspring to fix cruise control on 2011 toyota 4 runner. Did not use OEM part for clockspring, but I took the old angle sensor off the old cloxkspring and put it on the new one. Cruise control is working now. However, I have 3 lights on my dashboard now: airbag, a steering wheel with an exclamation mark, and the skidding car. I also have the following codes: c1231, c1433, and b1801. The dealership charged me 200.00 and just said they wouldn't do anything. They did not attempt a zero point calibration or anything to fix, just sent me away after they asked me if I used an OEM part and I said no. What can I do?
Well I would have used only OEM parts on that. But hey, if you're near Portsmouth, Rhode Island where I am now or in December if you're near Clarksville, Tennessee how resetted free with my computer that might fix it. But if not you're going to have to go OEM
@scottykilmer Scotty, thank-you for the quick reply and advice. I will do the clock spring replace again using an OEM part and I will make sure it comes with a angle sensor with it. If I am still getting dash lights, I would love to have you look at it in Clarksville. I love in Chattanooga, but could drive up there. I really appreciate your web page!
@scottykilmer I replaced the aftermarket clockspring with an OEM clockspring yesterday. The OEM part came with an angle sensor already attached to the clockspring, so no need to re-use the old angle sensor. No dashboard lights came on and everything is working now. Thanks again for your help!

Scotty doesn't revisit questions once he's answered them. Good to hear the new OEM clockspring remedied the problem. Thanks for the update!
