My car recently started to make a constant deep tone clunking sound i think from the rear, it sounds like someone knocking on a door(it doesnt increase with speed, its always consistent). The only times it doesnt happen is when im accelerating, or braking. If i let my car coast it makes the sound. Its a 2010 corolla 5 speed. What could it be? From what a researched it could be the rear drum brakes but the sound goes away when I'm breaking so I'm completely lost...
I'm almost certain its the front brakes, why else does it go away when I brake. The only part that gets me is why it doesn't happen when I'm accelerating.

Is this a front wheel drive or rear wheel drive vehicle? If it's a rear wheel drive vehicle, I would suspect worn out u joints in the drive shaft.
Try the above video to pinpoint it. It could be a worn out pulley, loose lug nuts, loose front end part. Report back with results, please.
Problem solved! The lug nets were the first thing i check when it started, felt tight just by my fingers but then i took the front wheels off to change the brake pads and rotors, lug nuts were pretty lose, I'm surprised the wheel was even still on. Needless to say, I am lucky I didnt lose a wheel on the freeway.
Phew you got lucky!! Please double check, next time.. it can have fatal consequences!
Sounds like a bad bearing somewhere. Could be a wheel bearing, alternator, AC clutch, power steering or anything attached to your serpentine belt, even the tensioner could go bad and that would be the easiest to fix. I know you said the noise comes from the rear but I would check these things. I also suspect the e brake components.
