Hello so recently my Subaru 2008 Impreza have been doing some weird things. The car has about 112,000 miles. I was driving home from work one day everything working how it should. Once I pulled into my driveway and parked my vehicle my ABS and traction control off lights came on. The only way to get them to turn off was to restart the car. I had just thought it was a onetime thing as it is an older car. Well about a week ago I was walking out of work going to my car. When I hit the unlock button on my key nothing happened. At the time I just thought "Oh ok, my key died." When I went to put in my car and unlock my door my alarm went off, so I had to put the key in the car and start it for it to turn off. Once again at the time I didn't think anything. But then a few days later I was driving my car around when my ABS and traction control lights turned on. I was in the middle of driving when this happened. I had to turn off my car and turn it on for it to go back to normal. Well, this happened again but only this time as soon as I turned on the car, not two times in a row, but two times during that day. Now I will say the first time the first time I ever had my system freak out like that it was about a month or two ago, so it has been some time. But now those other two things with the alarm and the ABS system happened within a few days of each other. I did go to Oreily's, and they did a basic scan tool test. Now of course nothing came up, but my computer chip did respond back, also nothing with my mileage, or gas meter have freaked out. I will say my tire air pressure light is always on, but we believe that is because of the computer chip for that. As two sensers were bad and we replaced those, that did fix it for a little bit, but it did turn back on. I haven't gotten that checked out yet as I've been focused on other stuff with the car but wasn't sure if that could relate to the issue in anyway. This is also the Impreza 2.5 litter model.
First thing I would do would be to check the battery load test it and check the alternator but if they are good I would go all through the car looking for loose connectors or corroded wiring especially on the ground system
Because you said corroded wiring, I would like to add this. My left turn indicator light will sometimes act as if it's burning out if I give it a good tap on the side though it fixes it. I know it's not the bulb because it has been changed and happens to my right fog light which I've also replaced. Thing with my fog light is it's much worse to where I'll hit it, it'll turn on and turn off after a few seconds I was thinking though that was a corroded housing for the light? Sense you said wiring those I was wondering if those could all go hand in hand?
Forgot to add, I didn't think this has any connection, but it does now? The passenger side windows they will go down but if I want them up, I must do it on my driver side myself. I will say though the vehicle was side swiped so those doors came off another Subaru so it may not have anything to do with wiring. Not sure if it could connect into the one issue I have? Also thank you for your response.
