- My passenger turned off the car whilst we were driving in a parking lot <15mph
- After turn-off, car entered Neutral, then 4-5 seconds later went into Park, and stopped itself without brake pedal input
- Warning on screen showed "transmission system problem. performance may be reduced. please see dealer"
- Took car to dealer the next day. They said no codes, did a test drive, car passed inspection.
My concern is that stopping the car with the transmission may have messed up the parking pawl such that there is long term damage that is not immediately apparent. Should I be concerned about potential transmission damage? Is the car built to withstand such use cases?
Nah that little bit wouldn't have damaged anything. But really why did the stupid things start out in the first place that's rather concerning on such a new car.

next time, take a photo of it.
