Kind greeting to you Scotty and to you dear community.

My name is Fernando, I live in Colombia and want to buy a rather cool now classic car. The car in question is a 1992 BMW 325i 2.5L, the E36 version and manual transmission. It is listed with 185,000 kilometres or 115000 miles.

To you with experience with this car, is it a good purchase? Am I looking at something with difficult repair jobs or unreliable parts? Am I looking at something that may become a headache or is it car that is fairly easy to work on? And am I looking to a pretty solid and good car?

So far what I have seen in forums and checking in the web is that people say it is a pretty solid car and a great car to own. Though I'm looking to be certain that I'll not be falling into a Big Money Waste into this purchase.

Many thanks to you all and best wishes for this year.

Any car over 30 years old is well past its heyday. I would pass if you're looking for something you intend to drive every day. BMWs are expensive cars and a 30+ year old one will milk you dry in a hurry if you're paying a mechanic to do all of it for you. That BMW also doesn't have OBDII functionality, so you won't likely be able to take it to just any ol' mechanic.

If you don't intend it as a daily driver, have it checked out by a mechanic who knows about OBDI functionality. That car has OBDI.
