Level dropping in coolant tank

I got a 2009 v6 Toyota Camry. I went outside to check the coolant today and saw the overflow tank had very little in it. I unscrewed the radiator cap and daw pink coolant but not a lot. The car has not been driven in a day. It has never had any overheating trouble and there is no leaks that I am aware of. Is it possible when the car turned off the bulk of the coolant stayed in the engine. Is this something that can happen?

Thank you

If the coolant tank was at maximum level before with the engine cold and is almost empty now under the same conditions that suggests you have a leak. You might want to check for leaks using a pressure tester and/or UV dye.

have a mechanic pressure test it for leaks

The fluid level in the overflow tank should stay between the low and full marks. As the car cools off it sucks fluid back into the engine and radiator from the over flow tank. It remains throughout the entire cooling system, not just the motor.

You could be just low on fluid. Wise to have a pressure test done. If you have no leaks or issues, just add enough pink coolant back to the overflow tank. Monitor your level for a few days.
