I bought a 2002 bmw 318i w an n 42 motor with 198000km It starts right up first thing in the morning but after driving it and stopping at a store. It won’t start for about. 30-45 minutes. It doesn’t throw any codes. I am thinking that it may be a coolant temperature sensor or a camshaft sensor. When it does start up I do not see any black smoke.

Try this: When it does not start, push the gas pedal all way down and then start the car. If you were successful starting the car this way, you may have leaky fuel injectors which results in engine flooding.
