I have a 1976 Datsun B210 with 230 or 330k miles with a dog leg transmission.
the charge light stays on only in city driving but shuts off on the high way. What could it be?
it also flickers in sequence with turning signal when used.
I replaced the battery, alternator, voltage regulator & ignition coil.
Voltage is sagging.
you'll have to go over all your electrical connections, fuses etc.
use a multimeter to measure voltage drop.
The quality of replacement parts these days can be pretty bad. I would have that alternator tested. Hook up a voltmeter to the battery and see what voltage you're getting at idle.
Beyond that, check your grounds, particularly the ground strap between the engine and the chassis. Wiring on a 46-year-old car is suspect in general. Fortunately those have very simple electrical systems by today's standards.
Also, check the charge light relay.
