Hi guys, my car just done a service with dealer last 2 week and now it got this problem. I had been told that because of poor fuel quality so that why it make my car get this problem.
got light engine on just this morning and got quote to solve the problem is
Inspection - $198
Cleaning of fuel tank - $396
Disposal fee - $300
20 litres fuel - $50
- P017200 – SYSTEM TOO RICH BANK 1 is the code problem.
Now dealer is refusing their responsibility for this case fix
my car still under warranty. Also the service had done as normal ( the odo only 13000km not 130000km) ( they also top up injector clean and wheelailment and charge 200$ by that time.
guys please help me with this case.
I'm assuming they're just guessing. Did they actually take samples of the gasoline and have it analyzed by a gasoline analysis company, there's a whole bunch of them out there. But they do take a few days to get the results as you mail the stuff in. So I doubt they did that. And of course they're trying to charge a small fortune. If it still runs halfway decently I would drive until it's almost out of gas. Then I would drain the little bit that's left in the gas tank. Then I would fill it up with gas and cleaner and see what happens. Dealers often do Overkill
@scottykilmer hi they just guessed it and see the fuel with yellow and confirm about poor quality. I’m going there to day to request documents before start fixing. But I think nó change to win them for warranty
Scotty usually answers only once. Dealers usually make various excuses to avoid reponsibility and/or warranty work.
Are you sure the code you reference isn't a PO172 code? Judging by the sound from your video it could be something 'amiss' along that fuel rail fuel (with the mixture). And yes bad gas could make it run poorly but as Scotty said that can be tested. Unless you've surpassed the warranty via mileage I'd hold their feet to the fire. It shouldn't cost your first born to fix a PO172 code on a 2 year old Corrola: https://www.obd-codes.com/p0172
