Hello! I was wondering if having mismatch wheels on either side could cause vibrations? The car vibrates at 65 MPH but not 60-70 according to my friend.
Please provide year, make, model, mileage.
When you say different wheels, what do you mean exactly? And why are they different?
The rims are different on each side, the left side is a jdm sports car 5 spoke style front and back, and the right, a rim from an unidentifiable brand that looks a lot like some oem wheel styles front and back. the style on the right looks heavier but that is just an assumption because they don't look very sporty.
Short answer is yes. That may be the cause. If you only have two wheels for the set then it should be fronts left right, rear left right. Not left side right side.. also different tires and incorrect balance perhaps.
Okay, thanks for the info! 🙂
Well different tread patterns will wear differently also, is the vehicle AWD, FWD, or 4 wheel drive plays a factor as well. If the Vehicle is AWD get the same tires on all way around. Front wheel drive you could get away with it short term as long as wheel on front matched and wheels on back matched. Like i said though that’s for a short term situation.
The tires are all the same so we're good on that front.
