  1. Big thanks to the channel! Been a huge help recently! Been truck shopping for 5 months now and always popping onto the channel for the facts.  I know what Scotty says about both vehicles, but given the current incentives on stellantis, does it make a discounted jeep worth it?  I'm seriously interested in the Nissan Frontier PRO4X, would I be an idiot if I bought a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon because I can get it for a comparable price?  All opinions are welcome.  Thanks a bunch guys!

Stay away from the Jeep Gladiator regardless of the price.

.

As for the Nissan Frontier, that is a far better choice, with the following caveat:  Up to and including model year 2019 the Nissan Frontier was pretty solid and the engine and transmission combo until then were tried and true.  Starting with 2020 MY when they changed the engine and transmission, all bets were off.  Stick to the older Frontier (MY 2019 and older).

Ya I was afraid that's the answer I'd get lol. I've been looking at new cuz I got beat with an older F150 last time, went thru 2 transmissions in a year. I want something that will last 15 years. 3rd gen tacomas are too much of a hassle to get at a reasonable price so I figured frontier or jeep would probably be my next best bet, but I see a lot of mixed opinions on them. The way I see it is if it's a 50/50...it's probably a bad bet. Thought I'd ask. Thanks for the feedback.

If you plan to keep it for 15 years, I would only go with a Tacoma or V8 Tundra. I know they fetch a higher price, but keep your eyes open, be patient, and be willing to travel a bit to get the right one.

If you are looking at a gladiator, that isn't a real truck. If you are looking for an off road beast, there are many other good options available that will last 15 years.

4Runner is the first that comes to mind, FJ cruiser, Lexus GX, or even Land Cruisers or LX, but the 4Runner is the cheapest of all of those.

What are you really looking for, or needing?
