I have a 2016 Mazda CX-5 that appears to have some sort of leak. When I start the car up I can sometimes smell gas through the AC vents or outside of the car, and something appears to be dripping underneath the front but I can’t tell if it’s gas or something else. The smell goes away after driving for a while and it only appears to be leaking while parked and running. Is this something serious?
If you are using your air conditioning the "something" dripping under the car is probably condensation. You should check and make a determination of what it is by color and odor.
It's more likely a problem with your evap system. Checking for codes and live data would be good start in diagnosing the problem, as well as a visual inspection of hoses in the system.
