My sister in law recently bought a 2012 dodge grand caravan, I cant remember the exact milage but i think its around 60-80k. It has the pentastar 3.6 and 6 speed auto. Do you think can these vans last a year or two until she can afford something better?
Yes, that van should last 5 yrs without needing anything major done to it. Buuuuuuuut with FCA products you never know 🤷♂️
They aren't that well made but 1 year isn't much it should go a bit (assuming its in good mechanical condition now and she doesn't go too hard on it).
Keep up on routine maintenance and don’t drive like The Duke Boys and your sister should get at least 300,000 millimeters of trouble free service from her Caravan

How many miles does she plan to put on in 1-2 years?  It’s possible, but no guarantees on those.  She has a much better chance if she follows the maintenance in the owners’ manual and is very diligent with oil changes (including transmission fluid).  Also, she needs to baby the vehicle and not drive it hard.
