If a DPF on a diesel car is blocked and the car goes into limp mode, my question is: Can this cause the Cruise Control to stop working?
I would assume limp mode deactivates a number of engine control features. Did this happen to you? What car was it? Any details? Did you get it fixed?
Hi Dad2lm2, I got my Dacia Sandero Stepway 1.5 dci back from the garage a few days ago, the DPF was completely blocked and creating back pressure, it was taken off and throughly cleaned plus new oil and a service.
I am glad to report that the amber engine light and electrical lights have gone off and now the cruise control is working again and is out of limp mode.
Apparently Renault, Dacia this is a known problem, if the DPF is blocked it will make the car go into limp mode and cruise control will not work!
Running like a train again lol 😆
Hmm. Glad to hear it worked out. Does it not so periodic regent cycles? If not, maybe you can just do periodic high speed highway runs.
Cheers!
Seems logical that it would.
Thanks Chuck, my car is in the garage for a thorough DPF clean and service at the moment, I will post back the results after the DPF clean.
The green gear change arrows also disappeared after both amber engine and electrical fault lights appeared!
Hi Dad2lm2, my car is a Dacia Sandero Stepway 1.5 dci these problems happened recently at roughly the same time, first the zigzag electrical amber light came on, then a day later an Amber engine light appeared which as remained amber but the electric light turned from amber to red.
My own Computer basic test said DPF blocked, but never through a code for the cruise control which I found strange, then after a trip to the garage, the mechanic said the cruiser control shuts down if the DPF is blocked because the vehicle goes into lump mode.
I will get back to you after the DPF is cleaned and let you know the results!
Best regards
