Got a check engine light on my 2003 Tundra with a v6 like a Tacoma. Got a gas cap. Old gas cap was only a couple of years old. Got the same code a couple weeks later. I noticed liquid gas around gas cap. I pulled the purge valve under the hood and tried to blow through it into a cup of water. No bubbles. Reinstalled, and checked for vacuum from engine and got none. Warmed up truck and pulled a hose and got vacuum. What would cause the gas on the gas cap? Truck has 230,000 miles. This is the first time I have seen this.
Well if the evap system wasn't working right and instead of venting it built up pressure the pressure could put gas up there. The only other thing I've ever seen is when they get old. Sometimes the baffles in the gas tank might get worn and then the gas will/around and get gas on the top too
Thank you for the advise. I was thinking along those lines. I confirmed the purge valve under the hood is working. I did find a bad vacuum line going to that valve. I don't think it was leaking much but could have set off the code. It seams like a leaky vacuum line would relieve pressure so likely the valve on the canister is not opening. On good thing is a cracked canister would not build up pressure in the tank.

post the whole code please, per the instructions.
