Driver's side front clunk noise at the end of braking. 2000 Camry LE

2000 Camry LE 108k miles. Automatic Transmission. Made in Japan. Purchased from private party. The front driver's side makes a clunk noise - not a high pitch squeal, more of a dull metal to metal sound clunk for about 1/10 of a second. It feels like there is a loss of braking also for that 1/10 second. The brake pads look like they were very recently changed due to the thickness. Also the rotor looks like it was recently changed. Both sides of the pads look equal in thickness. Thanks in advance for any direction to this issue.

Could be a stuck piston in the caliper.

After 22 years it's possible the caliper sliding surfaces have worn, causing the caliper to shift slightly while braking.
