I am getting mix answer on the internet . Is driving fast on the highway 5 days a week bad for your car. I am talking about like 60 to 90 mph.

If car is maintained properly like regular oil changes both engine and transmission with new coolant is it safe for the car ?

I know it is gonna have wear and tear on tires.

And at what rpm and speed it is considered Italian tune up and how long you have to drive

I had a 2015 Fusion and I drove highway only the last 2 years before I sold it. I added 40k miles a year, so 80k in 2 years total. It was in good shape when I sold it. Reliable and all parts were still original.

Highway driving is better for your car than city driving because your engine idles instead of having to run at different RPM. Your transmission doesn’t shift a lot either. And everything stays cool thanks to constant plenty of airflow.

Make sense thank you

Highway driving is fine. Driving it and hammering it constantly (what some call an Italian tune up) is not fine and will cause excessive wear.

Italian tune up means taking the car for a good hard drive once in a while to burn off some deposits, not driving like a maniac every day.

Driving fast will stress everything a little more.. the tires, engine, tranny etc., but I wouldn't say it's "bad". The car should be able to handle it. Obviously the air resistance will make you burn a lot more fuel.

That being said, 90mph is bit brisk for my taste. Mishaps become very lethal at that speed, and I'm not ready to go yet.
