scotty,
i survived hurricane elsa!! I live in SE Georgia where the storm hit pretty hard. I was driving home from work and a mile from my house the roads were really flooded. I said, "Jesus, take the wheel!!" and hit the gas peddle. I made it home fine. Next day, sunny and bright all water reseeded, just like your and my hairlines LOL. But now, I'm hearing a funny, somewhat grinding noise when I brake and make right or left turns at very low speeds. I have a 2008 Lexus RX 350. No other issues. Electrical, transmission, engine, AC, etc. work great as always. Do you think it might be the brake pads since they were exposed to all that high water for a brief period of time?
"Hey you should drive around that flooded road. You'll ruin your engine"

(that will be the ghost of Scotty)
I doubt the pads would care about the water. (they constantly get soaked while driving in the rain) It is more likely that you picked something up when you crossed and is now wedged in/around your brakes. I would take the tire off and look for some debris.
You can warp rotors pretty easily in high water when applying the brakes.
Something to think about.
