Hey Scotty. I’m thinking about buying another car. Which one is the easiest/simplest to do maintenance myself? Any hybrids that also might work? Thank you for your response.
What year ranges are you considering?
Last 5 yrs. definitely Toyota or Honda. Currently I have 15 Civic and it fairly easy. I was looking at Camry/Prius/Corolla and wondered if anybody has any experience working with those cars. I have to commute over 50 miles each day and also considered Hybrid versions of those cars.
If you want something easy to work on stay away from vehicles with transverse V6 engines. Getting to components, even just spark plugs, on the back side can be a real challenge. (Probably the easiest thing to work on would be a rear-drive pickup with a 4-cylinder engine and manual transmission.)
used 5 10 year old Toyota Yaris, don't buy a hybrid they are not DIY friendly
For the good mpg, you might consider a 2014-2016 Corolla. They are reliable cars, modern, look nice, and get 40mpg highway.
If your wanting to have easy/simple maintenance yourself, dont buy a hybrid. Try to get a older truck or something. Lots of room to work and with the right TLC they can last a while.
Appreciate everyone’s responses.
if anyone owned a hybrid Camry/Corolla/Prius or Accord/Insight/Civic, please share your experiences with basic book maintenances. Thank you in advance for your response.

It seems you prefer hybrids. There is something for you. Stay safe!
