A widow that I work for is downsizing and getting rid of her 2010 corolla with only 7000 miles. I believe that it would make an excellent car and has a lot of life in it left. I believe that it’s automatic transmission. I know that Toyota brand is good but is there any known problems with the 2010 corollas? Is there an estimated value of what it is worth? Thanks.
Clarification: which engine and how much?
That’s a great car as long as it’s a 4/5 speed automatic.
the value really depends on where you live, and used car values are quite high in recent times.
(If that’s not a conversional automatic, but an automated manual (R-N-E shift pattern) I’d avoid it)
Thanks Dan for the comment. I will double check but believe that it’s the 4 speed automatic. I’m from Northeast Ohio which does get snow in the winter and that is one of my worries as I drive an awd 2010 forester. I don’t have much experience with FWD but from what I understand pulling is a good thing in the snow.
They only sold the good transmissions in the US so you don’t have to worry about that 🙂
Yep the Corolla handles great, and from what I herd FWD is good in the snow and sand.
It is great also because the 2010-2013 model years are the absolute best.
Did she change any of the fluids? Ever? If it's been sitting with this little driving and no fluid changes, I'd be a bit leery. Low mileage on an older car isn't automatically a "good" thing.
Her husband always made sure his vehicles were serviced and oils changed. When he died a year ago, she would start the car and run it a little everyday in the garage. Oil changes were done by a local licensed shop. Not sure how many oil changes were done on this car.
Gotcha. I'm sure someone else can weigh in more definitely on what to expect. I was just curious if it had been sitting this whole time. At the very least, it would seem likely that it would have needed at least 10 oil changes by now.
i see on CL $4-8,000 but with a bunch of miles, i bought a '09 new cost me $16,000
i would just ask what she would take as prices seem to be all over the road
let us know how it plays out
Thanks for the comment. Her husband was in charge of the car. She didn’t even know the year or how to see the mileage. I asked her what is her minimum and she had no idea. She basically will give it away but I don’t want to take advantage of her either. I’m guessing she paid about 16,000 for it new based on my research.
