Hi guys, I am located in Plano, TX. Please recommend shops that can do good engine swaps on a car.
Mechanic recommendations are in the FAQ
LS swaps are popular for a lot of reasons, including ready availability of crate motors and aftermarket mods. For a lot of applications, Chevy S10 for instance, there are commercially available kits that make the job easier.
But for the Mercedes bodies you mention my search didn’t have any such luck. A few people on the internet claim to have done it, but not many. Which means that whatever shop does it will essentially be making it up as they go, including a lot of freestyling and custom fab. Certainly not gonna be many shops that have that particular service on their “menu”.
So getting back to your original question, you are going to be doing a national search. Being in Plano, you might as well call Gas Monkey, but I suspect they will be a hard “no.”
But since this is going to be a multi-year project anyway, I would wait until you can find a similar build (maybe an LS-swapped SL500 or something of similar vintage) at a show. Fly out to the show, and pick the guy’s brain.
Then fill up your bank account, because this is gonna be a lot of $$$$$.
Yeah that build would be extremely expensive. A lot of one-off parts and fabrication, basically a fully custom car. I'd go with a different platform.
What did you have in mind? What year, brand and model are you working with? Most shops that do classic car motor installation are unlikely to do imports/tuners, and so on.
Looking to put a LS, 1UZ or some other engine in a Mercedes W114 (preferred) or Mercedes W116 or W123 Or W126.
Definitely depends on what kind of car and what engine you are looking at.

Ok. See answer below
That is an easy six-figure project. You pretty much have to rework the whole car for LS power levels. Unless you have big money for a custom build (with a LOT of fabrication), I'd find a different platform to start with. If you are set on it, LMR (Late Model Racecraft) is in Plano. Good guys, tons of experience with LS builds....but just warning once more, you're looking at a LOT of expense so don't be shocked if you don't like the numbers.
