Hang out at a shop that services them and you'll have your answer. In short: NO. Unless you have very deep pockets to keep up with repairs and maintenance they are best avoided. (On the other hand if you're well heeled enough to afford all that, in the immortal words of Max Bialystock, "That's it baby, when you got it flaunt it, flaunt it!")

Yeah, I agree with Chuck, it's also wroth adding that Maserati uses Ferrari engines - so I can only imagine how much it'd cost to fix anything on these.
Hilariously, most of their models are built in either Fiat or Alpha Romeo plants - neither of those companies is known for their "craftsmanship" and with them switching away from the ZF 8 speed - things seem to be going from bad to worse.
But hell, if you have a lot of cash, just get a used $15k Quattroporte - but trust me when I say that you are going to hate it. it's built like crap, and the transmission is so bad that you will be afraid of stopping, knowing you are going to have to start again and have it (try to) go through the gears.

Maseratis are very fun cars to drive and the sound you get from the Ferrari-sourced powerplant.... {black}:inlove:

That said, they are built for driving in good weather as a weekend toy. Nothing more. If you expect long term reliability out of ANY Italian car, you're wishful thinking.

Beautiful to look at, incredible sound, luxurious...yes. Reliable? No.

No, stay away from them.  If you absolutely must have one, lease them and return before the warranty expires.  But realize Maserati dealerships are very few and far between and you may get stranded a few times on long road trips.  How much of a risk taker are you?  But, definitely don’t purchase one, lease them.

Better yet, just avoid them.
