Hey all! I have a 99 Honda CRV with ~51K miles, auto transmission.
The Engine ticks. Probably wouldn't realize it with the hood closed tbh, its not very noticeable. The ticking increases with rpm, attached is a video for reference. The car runs and drives totally fine.
The car was my grandma's and as far as i know she took good care of it, serviced it at the proper time intervals etc.
The car is 21 years old and my guess / hope is the engine may just need a valve adjustment.
Would love to hear thoughts!
Thanks!

Maybe needs a valve adjustment? Or maybe just noisy injectors?
@cwalsh525
You can try Chevron Techron, they sell it at Walmart in a black bottle. Could just be injectors. On the other hand, if the oil changes weren't done often enough, it can also make lifter noise. Buy a can of Seafoam and put it in, which is also sold and the cheapest at Walmart. One ounce equals one quart of cleaning power, so if you have a 4 quart engine put 4 ounces in. From there, put in the vehicle recommend oil, which is most likely 5W-30, could be different. Check to see if any sludge comes out when you do the oil change.

Hopefully it's just a valve adjustment. If the injectors keep making noise after the Techron, they'll be fine. It's an old vehicle. I hope that you don't have to put in Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer. Post your progress on here, I'd like to know what you come across.
@Mitsubishi1 Thanks, great advice. Ill try the Chevron Techron and then seafoam if needed and post progress here. I'm also going to change the timing belt at some point, so it would be logical to do a valve adjustment at that time too so maybe that will do it.
Wow sounds like a good deal looking forward to responses!
