Hello Scotty! I've been subscribed to your channel for a while now, and wanted to express my gratitude for your excellent advice and overwhelming knowledge of Toyota/Lexus products!

Because of your recommendations, and those of The Car Wizard, and The Car Care Nut, I recently purchased my first Toyota product! I grew up on GM products and considered myself a diehard Chevy guy most of my 43 years. Mostly high performance stuff; Camaros, Trailblazer SS, CTS-V. But, I grew tired of CONSTANTLY fixing them!

I found myself needing a car for my 16 year old. I sold my 19 Kia Stinger GT2 (my first attempt at stepping away from GM, great car btw) to use the equity to get two cars. one for me, and one for my son. So, on your advice, I bought a 2016 GS350 F-Sport AWD with 118k miles and a great service history. I'm in LOVE with this car! How have I been so blind all these years?? It's nowhere near perfect, but what a car! I'm looking forward to getting it in shape cosmetically (not that it's all that bad, bent wheels, etc).

The reason I'm contacting you, is that 2 days ago, I used the rest of my equity to buy my son a one owner 2014 ES350 with, get this, 180k miles! The car runs beautifully and was an absolute STEAL at $10k! But, it's not without it's issues. We're having big problems with the door locks and the remote fob. The driver's door will not lock or unlock with the fob or interior buttons. When you depress the lock/unlock button, the lock itself twitches, but nothing else. So, it's getting power. The driver's passenger door will unlock, but won't lock. Sometimes after trying to lock the doors, the car will make a very long beep, or beep 6-7 times as some kind of feedback that I'm not comprehending. I'm assuming that I need to replace at least the driver's door actuator, and possibly the rear door too. Before I start ordering parts, I'm curious if you have any suggestions on other things to try. My son and I have spent hours already trying to diagnose the problem; checking settings, pulling fuses, going through "reset" procedures, etc. Also, if I do need actuators, can you recommend an aftermarket solution that is superior to the OEM Aisin actuators? I don't want to have to replace them again in another 50k miles, or whatever.

Lastly, thank you so much for taking the time to read my message! I'm sure you are inundated with people contacting you, so it means a lot! Even if you don't have time to respond, I'll remain a loyal subscriber. I can't tell you how much your advice and expertise has reshaped my views on car ownership and my priorities for those vehicles. Keep up the great videos! I only wish I lived in your area so I could use you for the stuff I can't handle on my own!

Warmest Regards,

Well, for my experience of those things, the actuators go bad all the time. Sometimes all of them burn out. If you hear a noise that's trying to work, but it doesn't. It's almost always the actuators are breaking down
