Ethanol fuels: Engineering, Political, and ecological consequences for people who need food to sustain life

Dear Scotty:

How can corn turned into ethanol be a sustainable fuel when it is depleting our topsoil? It takes ten thousand years to replenish one inch of topsoil. Corn for automotive fuel has become a government-subsidized scam because Iowa is the first whistlestop on the presidential primary campaign trail for all the [expletive deleted] cretins fighting over one job and need something to woo Iowa voters with; more corn subsidies or government mandates for its use. {black}

1. Yes, Ethanol added to gas is a scam and a boondoggle.

2. Please watch your language, this is a family-oriented site.

3. This is not a political discussion group where it would be appropriate to get into a deep discussion of "Engineering, Political, and ecological consequences for people who need food to sustain life." (Thread marked private.)
