no coolant leaks.....but i can still see steam

There are not many things that will produce constant steam out of the tailpipe. You probably have a blown head gasket or cracked cylinder head.

Was it cold outside when you started the car? When it's cold outside and humid, my Ranger steams when it's started for the first time. Once it's hot, it goes away. I've never had to top off coolant.

Good point, though the way I read the post was that the exhaust continues to pour out steam even after the engine is warmed up.

I was paranoid that my head gasket had blown, because a shop only partly filled up the cooling system. This was before I arrived here. That's when I truly learned to start doing stuff on my own, lol.

Put UV dye in the coolant and note the coolant level. Run the engine for several hours. See if the overflow tank's level changes (drops). If there's no dye/leak to be found anywhere and the coolant level is less, it's burning water.
