How to lower my 2013 F-150 tranny temperature?

Dear Scotty,

Greetings from Kuwait. I bought a used F-150 King Ranch 5.0 with a 6SR80 transmission and 193K KM, MY 2013.  My daily commute to work is about 100 miles roundtrip almost all highway driving.  The speed limit on the highway is 120 km/h, when I am cruising at 100 km/h my transmission temp. indicates 94c. When I drive 120km/h, the temp. goes up to 97, 98c. However, I've noticed that if I go faster say 130 km/h, with the engine RPM just below 2000, the temp, goes down slightly to 95c, and if I slow her down to 120, the temp, goes up a couple degrees.  Yes, Kuwait is very hot, from May to September the outside temp. is between 35-52c. I recently changed the transmission fluid and filter, she shifts perfectly, no issues with that. What can I do to bring the transmission temp. down. The transmission cooler, looks fairly new, the previous owner might have replaced it, is there a bigger cooler, I can stick in, or is it a programing issue.

Much appreciated,

Rashed.

Do research on local forums to see what type of transmission coolers are used in your area.

Unless you’re towing a dozen camels, it might be best to just leave it alone -

from what I've found online, normal trans temp is 180-210 F (82.22-98.88 C). You're running at the higher end of normal, but you are in the heat of Kuwait. We're into Sept. already and hopefully temps start to subside a bit. See what the trans. temps are between October - April. It's likely normal for where you're driving.

I wouldn't worry about those temperatures. Just change the fluid more often (maybe 50,000 km)

I've heard of Jeep guys swapping their radiator fans to different things but I never heard of any cooling upgrades for the transmission before.  But a quick look on Amazon shows that there is plenty of add-on universal transmission coolers that are pretty inexpensive.  (Can't say I know if they work well)

Overall its pretty normal for truck guys to modify their truck if they operate it in extreme conditions.  I don't think one of these addons could hurt.
