[Solved] F150 – Is it the tires, or the suspension?

I have a 2015 F150 XLT SuperCrew (V8). At 35,000 mi. I needed to change out the factory tires and decided to get new wheels, too. Discount Tire put on new wheels (17" - a bit smaller than factory) and tires (BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO2). The look was/is great. I wanted these tires, as my brother and others said they were amazing - quiet, ride, traction, durability, etc. But, over time, they have developed quite a roar (now at 60,000 mi). You can even feel it in the steering wheel. The tires have been rotated religiously every 5000 mi. Discount Tire says I have a cupping issue, due to my suspension. I am the only driver of my truck, and have had it since new. No off-roading and no curbs. I am also extremely sensitive to wheel balance issues, vibrations and alignment.

I'm getting ready to dump these tires ... so is the cupping issue caused by my truck (suspension) or the tires themselves?

Thx.

Before you spend a big sum on new tires, have the car put on a lift and the suspension examined/diagnosed. One thing I can say: Whatever the Discount Tire guys say, it's not determinative. They're not experts on suspensions.

Having said that you do need shock absorbers, struts, bushings and the like evaluated. Get a proper evaluation by a honest diagnostician.

it's not unusual for the suspension to be worn out at 60k

it seems that the suspension on your car needs to be fixed.

Have your vehicle inspected by a reputed front end alignment shop, first.
