Faulty turbo actuator (wastegate)

Hey Scotty, I have a Mazda 3 2005 1.6 ctdi with about 97.000 miles . I just found out that the turbo actuator is faulty because it doesn´t go all the way down, and I was wondering what would happen if a just put a zip tie holding the rod down 🤣 🤣 . If I just leave the faulty actuator on, will it afect the rest of the turbo parts or will it be fine? Honestly I can live with a slow car.

Nah you can't do that. It wasn't designed that way you could end up messing with the air fuel ratio and it would run like crap. Realize those things are designed for a turbo and if you deactivate any of the systems, all kinds of squirrely stuff will happen and you check engine light will probably stay on too. If you live somewhere where you have to get it inspected for emissions, it would fail every year
