I am now looking at a black 2013 honda accord ex-l coupe. It has 96k miles and the seller is an auto sales lot that wants $12,900. For it. Will this car last till like 200k miles if maintained?

Those are great cars and if it's been well-maintained, not flooded, no accidents, and not abused it should last way longer than 200K miles. However nearly $13,000 sounds like a lot for an 8-year-old Accord. A quick check at edmunds.com (which tends to inflate values to begin with) pegs the dealer price of a 2013 Accord coupe of that type in typical/average condition at about $10,300. To get into the $13K range it would need to be "outstanding". (That is, in virtually new condition. According to Edmunds only 5% of used cars qualify for "outstanding" condition.)

You didn't say what kind of dealer has the car. If it's at a Honda dealer it's probably a trade-in with a known history, but if it's on a used car lot it would from an auction. Late-model cars that wind up at auction frequently are trades that had some problem that a dealer didn't want to hassle with. Have the car checked carefully by a mechanic of your choosing (not the dealer service department!) before buying.

Maybe, but: 1. Don't believe anything the used car lot tells you 2. Get anything they say about repairs or problems in writing 3. Check out how long the used car lot has been there and their reputation

Used car salesmen have a well-earned rep for sleaziness, and used car dealers pop up, close, go bankrupts or  "go under new management" to escape mad customers and lawsuits.

Use Autotrader.com to see what other dealers are charging for that car - where I live, that's a pretty high price.

They have a 4.5 out of 5 stars based on 64 reviews.
