FJ Cruiser

Hey Scotty, I’m thinking of buying a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruise. I’m a trucker so I don’t need a dairy driver, rather something cool I could work on and drive around when I get home. The price is very high and I was wondering if it’s worth it?

They became collectible items, that's why the people ask lots of money for them. If you love it, go ahead, otherwise in my opinion there are lots of other options.

The first year (model year 2007) of that generation had some issues.  I would avoid it, if you can; look for a later model year.  See below:

Hi Yared

My sister in law has one. Her husband likes only 4 wheel drive vehicle but she is short and complains about getting in and out. I suppose it is reliable since they never complain but it is a gas guzzler and it is hard to park because of it's width. Despite it being huge it does not have a lot of cargo space. My sister in law shops with my wife and they always use my wife's SUV. The PT is harder to load and unload being high up.   I always find it kinda phony that it has fake Allen head cap screw molded into the dash. It give it a fake military look like a toy. All vehicles are difficult to work on these days because of their complexity and electronics. Every thing is a trade off.

Lately my sister in law has asked her husband to get the same SUV as my wife. The SUV my wife has is unmentionable on this forum lest I be bombarded with poisonous barbs  but it's equivalent is a Hylander.

Whats a dairy driver?

I think the old ones (1970s) are the best for restoration and messing around with.  The newer ones, not so much.
