Hey Scotty I have a funny question. It’s cold here in Ohio so I decided to check our vehicles tire pressure. Of the three vehicles I topped them off to spec and put the valve stem covers back on. Come out the next morning and 2 tires on one car and one on the other is flat. Adding air is a simple task I’ve done my whole life and this has never happened. What would cause this?
another factor could be If your rim is an aluminum rim and is oxidizing, the seal on your tire bead won't seal well. And when it gets colder the air leaks out faster. I have this problem with my aluminum rims that are 17 years old. I live in Michigan so I noticed that i had to put air in my tire every two days, where in the summer that tire took about 2 weeks to leak the same amount of air.
Well if there was any water involved it could have turned to ice and then Frozen the valve stem slightly open and they went out the only other thing I ever see is if the valve stems are very old the process of pushing air into them can make them crack and leak if they're old and worn out
