Topic starter
- 2001 f250 7.3L, 4r100 4x4 automatic transmission, 500,000kms, no codes but had blinking o/d light. Cleaned transmission range sensor connector and no start. Dried out and is working normally again.
- Is it necessary to shift into neutral when replacing the transmission range sensor?
- What do the alignment marks mean on new dorman 511-101 range sensor?
- I get nothing but doublespeak and conflicting service procedures from parts store, dealership, haynes repair manual, online repair host and part manufacturer so please help.

Well your light was flashing it had transmission codes you need that scanned I can't guess without that data the transmission codes are special codes and a fancy scan tool can get that we mechanics have and without that information you might as well as piss in the wind
