Hi, I am looking to buying a Ford expedition 2018 - 2020 and I wanted if there are any problems with this model or has anybody experienced anything? Is the 3.5l V6 Ecoboost is it good and reliable?

Depends on how many miles it has and how long you want to keep the car. The transmission on these cars on on a weak side, The electronics go crazy when they get old.

How about GMC Yukon 2016 with 6 speed? I heard they last a lot of time because of that V8 and 6L80 transmission.

Over time they fall apart with all the electronic stuff they have weak automatic transmissions are it isn't hard to find hunderds of thousands of them in recalls.

They are alright for a few years afterwards they aren't going to serve you well. (Check out the experiences with 10 15 year old Explorers), even 5 year old ones. It doesn't seem that great does it?

Generally neither the EcoBoost nor the Cyclone engines in these are very reliable. The older Ford Explorers probably had the worst automatic transmission in any SUV to date. The newer ones are better but still weak.

A good alternative is the Toyota Sequoia, which would be much more trouble free.

GM quality is also low I wouldn't recommend any of the big three when it comes to these vehicles.
Both the Yukon and Expedition are electrical nightmares.

The Ford 3.5 Ecoboost V6 is subpar when it comes to durability if you plan to keep this car a while you will be dissapointed as it starts to fall apart.

How many years and miles are you hoping it will last for?   The Ford Expedition has been out since MY2018 but it has the 3.5L Ecoboost with the 10-speed AT both of which can be problematic, esp. if you plan to keep for a long time and put well beyond 100,000 miles on it.  There’s already been class action lawsuit against the 10-speed AT and the 3.5 L Ecoboost engine has a water pump driven by a timing chain that if it leaks can potentially take out the whole engine - a poor design decision by Ford.  On top of that you have a lot of high tech which overtime can fail.  It’s hard for me to recommend this vehicle, esp. once it goes past its warranty.  If you want it, I recommend to lease, or look for a different vehicle to buy (also stay away from GM).

Regarding the 3.5 L Ecoboost, see at 6:09 below:

I want an SUV the same size but it will run for a long time and doesn't fall off because I am planning on putting at least 150,000 miles on it. Do you have any recommendations?

Also will you be towing? It will be hard to match that size, but the best I can recommend is a Toyota Sequoia or Land Cruiser.

There will be no towing just cruising on the highways. Toyota sequoia's engines are the best but too much money for a 2008 car. Is there any other recommendation other than Toyota?

2008 or 2018? This Sequoia generation goes back to 2008 and you should be able to find a used on (older than 2018) but still be cheaper than a newer 2018-2020 Expedition. You can also look at the Lexus equivalent which tend to be overlooked (but might work to your favor and can be cheaper believe it or not than the Sequoia); those would be the Lexus LX570 or if you can go smaller look also at the Lexus GX460. Besides the Sequoia, the Land Cruiser (probably holds value the best), and the 2 Lexus’ there is nothing else I can recommend in that class that can go 150,000+ miles relatively trouble-free. It’s becoming rare these days with newer vehicles to find that and Detroit’s Big Three are not interested in pursuing that (focused on planned obsolescence).

Thank you for your help

type "Yukon" into the search box, or start a new question. Thanks. And don't make multiple posts about the same thing.
