Ford Hybrid Systems

Wanted to see opinions from people that have had experience owning/working with a Ford Fusion hybrids (not plug-ins). I read back then that Ford has worked hand-in-hand with Toyota to develop their Hybrid systems, they even use the same Atkinson Cycle engine are they as reliable as Toyota Hybrids?

Nope, they are not. Ford stopped making sedans and economy cars because they realized the Japanese manufacturers destroy the US manufacturers in that category. Stay FAR AWAY from any modern made Ford car, or any American manufacturer hybrid or EV set up. American manufacturers quality control is continuing to spiral downhill. Their overall business decisions year after year have only been worse and worse.

As I understand the Ford Hybrid story.

Ford independently created a hybrid system extremely similar to Toyota’s hybrid system. But since Toyota came to market first, Ford just licensed the technology from Toyota.

As far as collaboration, TMK, it was more of an intellectual collaboration rather than making any components together.

Maybe someone has more info on this story.

Definitely not the same.

There is a reason Ford doesn't make theirs anymore and Toyota has had success.
